All DWP staff who use display screen equipment are entitled to a VDU eyecare voucher that provides a range of great discounts at Specsavers.

The voucher first provides a free full eye examination, including digital retinal photography if you’re over-40 or your optician recommends it.

If the optician finds that you require glasses specifically for VDU use, you’ll be entitled to

£50 glasses

One complete pair of glasses from the £50 frame range, fitted with standard single vision lenses plus a scratch-resistant treatment when required solely for VDU use.

Free lenses

If your prescription is for VDU use and for other uses, eg distance or reading, your costs are covered for multifocal lenses as follows: £35 for bifocal lenses, £50 for varifocal lenses and £50 for occupational lenses.

OR upgrade to

£50 towards glasses

OR the £50 contribution can be used towards an upgrade to other frame ranges.

a further £20 towards glasses

Premium Club is an integral part of every VDU eVoucher and it offers a further £20 contribution when glasses are selected from the £100 frame range or above, thus giving you a combined contribution of £70.

If you have your free eye test and the optician determines that you don’t require glasses for VDU use you can still benefit from Premium Club and get £20 off glasses from the £100 range or above which includes designer glasses. Also, you still get 2 for 1 glasses from our £70 range and above.

Eye test excludes OCT scan. Where results of the eye test show that glasses are required solely and specifically for VDU use, this voucher covers £50 frames with standard single-vision lenses (or a £50 contribution to higher priced frames, also with single-vision lenses). £50 discount or contribution does not apply to glasses required solely for other uses.  Voucher cannot be used towards the cost of reglazes. Where glasses priced at £100 or above are chosen, voucher entitles you to an additional £20 discount. Glasses must be chosen on the same day as your eye test. Please present your eVoucher on arrival in store. Cannot be used online. Voucher can only be redeemed by named recipient. 

This voucher cannot be used by persons under 16 years old.  Voucher can be used with all other Specsavers offers except the over 60’s discount, students discount, and any contact lenses which are excluded.  All terms for in-store offers apply.  eVouchers are not for resale and cannot be exchanged in whole or part for cash.
