Specsavers Corporate Eyecare has over 20 years of experience delivering our eyecare services to public sector organisations including Central Government, Councils, NHS Trusts, Emergency Services and many more.

How it works for public sector organisations

Our eyecare scheme makes it simple and straightforward for employees to access eyecare services at any one of our Specsavers stores in the UK and Republic Of Ireland.

We offer a wide range of eyecare solutions to suit all public sector requirements including VDU eyecare, safety eyecare and drivers eyecare. We have different VDU options that you can select from to provide single vision or multifocal lenses.

Our eyecare scheme is not simply about providing eye tests to your employees, we have a wealth of information that can be shared with you to educate employees on the importance of regular eyecare and offer detailed Account Management support packages.

How your organisation can benefit

Specsavers have been on the Crown Commercial Services framework for Occupational Health Services for the last 4 years and have just recently been awarded a place on the new framework for Occupational Health, Employee Assistance Programmes and Eye Care Services (RM6182) that went live in March of this year. We are also a supplier on the NHS SBS Workforce & Wellbeing Services Framework which started in March 2018.

As a public sector organisation you have the option of using the scheme directly without a tender process (if you fall below the threshold), carrying out your own tender or using one of the existing frameworks where you will be able to benefit from the framework arrangements already in place.

Do you work for the NHS?

If you work for the NHS, you might wonder if this entitles you to discounted or free eyecare services.

Can NHS workers get a free eye test?

Unfortunately, NHS staff aren’t automatically entitled to an NHS-funded eye test. However, if you meet the general qualification criteria you will be eligible for a free eye test.

Find out if you qualify and if so, what you need to do to receive your free eye test

Do NHS workers get free glasses?

Again, unfortunately, NHS staff aren’t automatically entitled to NHS-funded glasses. Some people will be entitled to an NHS optical voucher that helps to cover the cost of glasses or contact lenses.
