It is very normal to have difficulties hearing on the telephone when there is lots of noise in the background, no matter what type of environment you are in - work, home, social, etc. It can be particularly difficult in a large open-plan office with many other people also talking. That said, if you do have any concerns about your hearing, you should contact your GP in the first instance.
