If I'm stuck somewhere overnight without my lens solutions, what can I do to store my lenses?
Good hygiene is essential to keep your eyes healthy and contact lenses in good condition. Unfortunately, if you haven't got access to the right lens care solution, nothing else will do.
Storage in water has been linked with contamination of lenses that can cause serious eye infections. It's better to dispose of the lenses than to get an eye infection.
If you're likely to do this often, consider daily disposable or continuous wear lenses - ask your optician for prices and availability.
