The wonder of kids’ sight… means parents can be tight!
The average family spends around £400 per child* on expensive sightseeing trips over the summer holidays. But in fact, kids see wonder in mundane sights like a mossy wall or oddly shaped rock.
Checking on the health of your children’s eyes and vision ensures they’re able to enjoy these wonders.
We’ve teamed up with 11-year-old nature lover Aneeshwar Kunchala to promote these sights and get parents talking about their children’s vision.

Make sure they can clearly see these wonders
Around one in five young children under 10 have a sight condition**. The good news is that many childhood sight conditions can be managed or corrected if they are identified and monitored through regular eye tests.
Specsavers wants to help every child experience everyday wonder with free NHS-funded eye tests to check their vision and eye health. Under-16s can also get free NHS-funded glasses from some of our ranges***.
TV adventurer and Chief Tour Guide Aneeshwar Kunchala opened a Tightseeing tourism kiosk in London. Armed with maps, a megaphone and bags of enthusiasm, he promoted "must-see" mundane sights to passing families, while a Specsavers optometrist carried out eye screeners and taught parents about kids’ eye health.
"I love Tightseeing because it's all about the free things kids think are amazing – like a rock that looks like a dinosaur, a tree with a funny hole, or a puddle that reflects the sky. Grown-ups sometimes think they need to spend loads to show the kids something special, but there are brilliant things to discover everywhere you go."
