Free Kids' Sunglasses
Remember - kids can have free prescription sunglasses as their second pair with our 'kids get two free pairs' glasses offer.

  • Check sunglasses comply with BSEN1836: 1997 or bear the CE Kitemark and are marked UV 400.
  • If you are going on holiday and have prescription sunglasses, take your optician's phone number with you. If your sunglasses break, your optician can send your prescription to an optician near you so that you can get new ones.
  • By adding polarised lenses, you can decrease the amount of glare, which can dazzle and strain your vision – particularly useful when you are by the pool or participating in outdoors sports.
  • Invest in photochromic lenses – such as our Reactions lenses – that instantly adapt to light changes, darkening in bright light. Alternatively, have prescription lenses tinted to minimise the amount of UV rays that reach your eyes.
  • Check sunglasses comply with BSEN1836: 1997 or bear the CE Kitemark and are marked UV 400.
  • The larger the lens, the more protection they’ll give your eyes as there’s less chance that light will filter in through the sides.
  • Make sure that your glasses don’t restrict your vision either side of you, which could prove hazardous when driving or walking in heavy snow.
  • Contact lenses offering UV protection do not cover the whole of your eye and so should be worn with sunglasses.
  • Ensure that your sunglasses fit properly. They shouldn’t be able to slide off, or have a tight strap that digs into your head.
  • We’re passionate about children’s eyesight – that’s why we aim to provide parents with everything your child needs to keep their eyes safe in the sun.
  • Children under 16 are at a higher risk of suffering UV damage to their eyes than adults. So when you reach for your sunglasses on a sunny day - don’t forget to grab a pair for your kids.
  • All our kids’ glasses include single-vision lenses and a UV filter, so you can be confident their eyes are safe from long-lasting sun damage while they play outdoors.
  • All glasses in our kids’ £64 and £85 ranges are free with an under-16s’ NHS optical voucher. We’ll also give you a free second pair from the £64 or £85 ranges and you can choose to have tinted prescription lenses and UV filter free in this second pair.
