Community and corporate responsibility
Wherever in the world we operate, we’re passionate about giving back and working with our local communities. Whether that’s through charity partnerships, fundraising or providing employment opportunities for local people.
Our UK charity partners
We support a huge range of charities in the UK at a national and local level. Here are some of our main partnerships.
parkrun
parkrun is a charity with a clear goal: changing lives through better health. It is a free 5k community event held every weekend in parks and open spaces across the country. Open to all, it welcomes people of every age and ability — whether they walk, jog, run or volunteer. Over 1,300 events take place across the UK each week, delivered entirely by volunteers.
Our partnership with parkrun is rooted in a shared commitment to community health and wellbeing, inclusion and helping more people feel able to get active in ways that work for them.
Crisis
Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness, providing vital help for them to rebuild their lives and support them out of homelessness for good.
Vision Care for Homeless People
Vision Care for Homeless People works to preserve, protect and promote the eye health of homeless and vulnerable people in the UK in a place where they feel welcome and comfortable.
The Big Issue
Big Issue Group brings together their media, investment and service initiatives under a shared mission to create innovative solutions through enterprise and to unlock social and economic opportunity for the 15m people in the UK living in poverty, enabling them to earn, learn and thrive.
Simon Community
Northern Ireland’s leading homeless charity, Simon Community was established in 1971 with a siple mission – to end homelessness for those in need by providing preventative services, temporary accommodation and specialised support services. As well as providing immediate assistance, their aim is also to create long-term solutions the end the cycle of homelessness.
Every Youth
EveryYouth is the national charity for 16-25 year olds facing homelessness. EveryYouth exists to help vulnerable young people access mental health support, enter meaningful employment, and secure a home of their own.
Blind Veterans UK
Blind Veterans UK helps vision-impaired ex-Servicemen and women to rebuild their lives after sight loss. They provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support to veterans regardless of how or when they lost their sight. They also help blind veterans, some of whom risk being homeless, regain their independence and live the life they choose.
Visionary
Visionary is the UK membership organisation for over 100 local sight loss charities, connecting a diverse network of organisations that support people with a wide range of sight conditions and those who are blind and partially sighted in their communities.
Through our partnership, we extend this impact further, supporting collaboration and sharing practical learning across the network. This means local knowledge informs wider conversations and helps shape more joined up, responsive support for people with sight loss across the UK.
Glaucoma UK
Glaucoma UK is the charity for people living with glaucoma and those at risk of the condition. Their goal is to prevent avoidable sight loss and help everyone with glaucoma live well.
Through our partnership, we work together to raise awareness of glaucoma, reach people who may be at risk or newly diagnosed, and help ensure clear, accurate, patient‑focused information and support is available at key moments of care.
Helping people experiencing homelessness to access care

The UK and the Republic of Ireland stores and support teams gave more than £1.6 million to charities and good causes in 2025.
We are committed to supporting people experiencing homelessness through our continued work with our partners Crisis, Vision Care, Big Issue, Focus Ireland, Simon Community and Every Youth.
Our ambition is for anyone experiencing homelessness to access free and appropriate eye and hearing care.Due to the breadth of homelessness experiences, we identified the need for a hybrid approach. Our optics and audiology clinics run in many of our stores outside of retail hours, as well as in the community through pop-up services at commuinity centers. We are also proud to work alongside Vision Care and together seek to influence national policy to ensure equitable access to care.
Alongside our Homelessness Programme, we have longstanding support for Glaucoma UK, Blind Veterans UK, the British Citizen Awards, Carers UK, Visionary and we continually support numerous local charities.
