The local Yate Specsavers team has raised more than £50 after taking part in Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 23 September.
The store donned their favourite denim for the day and invited customers to enjoy a selection of homemade cakes and sweets.
The proceeds from the day will be going towards funding a range of initiatives that will improve the lives of children affected by genetic disorders. The charity develops resources for schools to make pupils more aware and empathetic of the difficult lives that sufferers lead, as well as supporting families affected by genetic disorders across the UK.
A word from the store director
Jane Morgan, store director, said: ‘Jeans for Genes day is something we take part in every year. 1 in 25 children are born with a genetic disorder, and it’s so important to not only raise awareness of the charity and their work, but to also support it as best as we can with fundraising. The team did a great job on the day and we are delighted to contribute to the cause.’
