A local Scout group will now be seen more clearly, thanks to a donation of high-visibility vests from Specsavers in Yardley.
The store donated 50 vests to the 24th Birmingham Scout Group who are based on Manor Farm Road in Greet. The giveaway forms part of an initiative to make the roads safer for children.
Dee Browning, store director said: ‘We’re delighted to give these vests to children in the local area, as they really make a difference when they are out and about near roads.’
Helen O'Reilly, 24th Birmingham Scout Leader, added: ‘We’re very grateful to Specsavers for kindly donating these vests which will be used for night hikes and when the group are on camps or day trips to ensure that the children can be seen and therefore remain safe.
Specsavers is the co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, which is an annual event organised by the charity, Brake. For more information, please visit www.brake.org.uk.
