Specsavers in Worthing is adding to its wide range of services by offering ear wax removal to customers from 11 January.
The audiology team at Specsavers Worthing are fully trained to professionally remove excess ear wax, which may be causing discomfort or difficulty hearing.
Mark Henderson, hearing director at Specsavers Audiologists in Worthing, said: ‘Our ears do self-clean and ear wax helps to maintain the health of our ears. But problems can arise when items, such as cotton buds or ear plugs, are inserted into the ear. It interferes with the ear’s natural cleaning process and pushes wax further into the ear, which can cause build-up or a blockage of the ear canal.
‘Wax build-up also makes it very difficult to perform accurate hearing tests, so this new service means customers can have everything managed at the same time.

Mark adds: ‘If you notice any of the symptoms of impacted wax, including sudden or partial hearing loss, tinnitus, a feeling of fullness in the ear or earache, then we advise you to visit one of our audiologists in store who can help resolve the issue.’
