Specsavers in Worcester Park is calling on local spec wearers to donate any used and unwanted glasses to the store’s Vision Aid Overseas (VAO) appeal.
The store is renewing its support for Vision Aid Overseas this year to help the charity provide important eyecare services to people in Africa.
Going to a good cause
Residents with old glasses to spare can drop them off at the collection box located at Specsavers Worcester Park.
These glasses are then collected and recycled, with funds raised from the reusable parts used to fund eye care projects in Burkina Faso, Ghana and other African countries.
'Need help of local community'
Jamil Nanda, store director at Specsavers Worcester Park, said: ‘We’re aiming to donate a lot of glasses to Vision Aid Overseas this year but we need the help of the local community to do this. Your donations will help make a big difference to people who struggle to access professional optical care.’
