Specsavers in Worcester Park showed its support for World Glaucoma Week (11-18 March) by completing additional training to learn more about the condition.
Staff members have completed a course designed in conjunction with the International Glaucoma Association, which will enable them to assist glaucoma sufferers in manging the condition, such as advising on how to effectively administer eye drops.
Keeping glaucoma in focus
Glaucoma is thought to affect around 700,000 people in the UK, and Specsavers Worcester Park is aiming to raise further awareness of the condition by backing World Glaucoma Week this month.
Charnjit Dhaliwal, store director at Specsavers Worcester Park, said: ‘We do everything we can to protect the eyesight of our customers, so we leapt at the chance to take on extra training around glaucoma. The course will enable us to provide even greater care to people suffering from the condition.’
