Wolverhampton Specsavers has raised £350 in their latest fundraising initiative for Promise Dreams.

Pledging support

The store in the Wulfrun Centre have pledged to donate £1,000 before the end of the year to Promise Dreams, a local charity dedicated to providing support for terminally ill children and their families by turning dreams into reality.

To reach their target, the team have held a number of events throughout the year. The most recent of which was a Harry Potter themed quiz night, held at the Clarendon Pub on Friday 26 August. The team raised £200 on the night and guests had the pleasure of meeting Poppet, the Promise Dreams mascot.

In addition to the quiz night, store trainer Lindsay Bradbourn ran in the Carver Wolverhampton 10km on Sunday 4 September, raising a total of £150 through sponsorship and donations.

With the proceeds from these two events, the store have now fundraised a total of £850 and, with plans to host a Halloween fun day, they are well on their way to cracking the £1,000 target by the end of the year.

A word from the store director

‘The quiz night was a great event for all involved and our team donated all the prizes themselves, which was very generous on their behalf,’ said store director, Hasan Abdulla. ‘We are also very proud of Lindsay and her contribution to the cause. Promise Dreams is a special charity and we are honoured to be offering a helping hand and are committed to reaching our target of £1,000.’
