Specsavers in Wolverhampton raised more than £400 on Armed Forces Day (28 June).
On the day staff dressed from the era and played wartime hits as they carried out the fundraising – collecting £409.63, which will support those who serve, and have served, in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.
D-Day veterans joined in the fun
The team were also joined by retired veterans from the Wolverhampton branch of the Parachute Regiment Association, which included 91 year-old Joseph Davies who fought on Gold Beach on D-Day, together with former SAS soldier Bob Tong (90), as well as Jack Baker (90) and Ton Breoin (89) who both landed on Arnham where fellow soldier, Jack was taken prisoner.
