A local school will benefit from much-needed school supplies thanks to the fundraising efforts of a Wolverhampton opticians.

The team at Specsavers in the Wulfrun Centre held a school-themed fundraising day in store, raising a total of £398.91. The money will go towards supplies for children at the Christchurch Primary School in Wolverhampton, including stationery, books and sports equipment.

Range of fundraising activities 

Parents from the school joined staff members to bake a selection of cakes and man the bake sale stand, while visitors also enjoyed having their faces painted in return for a donation to the cause.

The store was decked out with balloons and a school theme, and staff members put a twist on their Specsavers uniform.

A word from the store director

‘Thanks to the generosity of the local community, we will be able to provide Christchurch Primary School with a huge amount of new equipment,’ said store director Hardip Bahia.

‘It’s important to the team here at Specsavers that we support our local community, and when we heard that the school was appealing for donations, we were keen to do whatever we could to help.

‘We are so grateful to the parents who gave up their time to contribute to the day, and everyone who visited the store to donate. We hope that the school supplies will make a positive difference to the children, contributing to a fun and engaging learning environment.’
