With time running out to enter this year’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, the team at Specsavers Wolverhampton has been reminding customers how they can get involved.
Dress up weekend
Hosting a dress up weekend in store, staff donned their most glamorous outfits as they issued a final call for entries. Customers were also offered specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments), in return for donations to Promise Dreams.
By simply sharing a selfie by Sunday 3 July, local specs wearers could be in with a chance of winning a trip to New York and £10,000 spending money.
Express your style
‘We all really enjoyed getting dressed up to promote this year’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition and it was great to see customers getting involved,’ said Hasan Abdulla, store director. ‘Specs are a fantastic way to express your personal style and this competition really helps people feel more confident about wearing their glasses with pride.
‘We were also able to continue our fundraising for Promise Dreams by accepting donations from customers.’
The competition has five age categories – 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-59 and over 60s, plus a Facebook favourite voted for by the public. A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and will mingle with celebrities at a central London awards ceremony in October.
