Lion tamer

This Saturday, visitors to Specsavers in the Wulfrun Centre will be transported to the carnival, with members of staff dressing up as traditional carnival characters, including a lion tamer, a mime artist and a strong man.

Younger visitors can try their hand at classic fairground games like ‘hook a duck’ and tuck into popcorn in return for a 50p donation.

Deanesly Centre

All proceeds will be going towards the Deanesly Centre, which is a purpose-built oncology unit, which provides vital clinical and support services for those suffering with cancer.

‘The whole team is so excited about our carnival day,’ said store director Hardip Bahia. ‘There has been a lot of hard work put in and I’m sure it will be a roaring success.

‘Everything we make on the day will go directly to the Deanesly Centre to support the incredible work they do there. We’re hoping that the activities we have on in store will encourage locals to dig deep so that we can make as much money as possible.’

The carnival day will be running from 9am until 5.30pm.
