Specsavers in Woking is delighted to announce a new colleague to the team.
Houman Motamedi is heading up the new hearcare facility at the store in his capacity as hearcare director.
This new appointment comes at a very exciting time following the store’s recent refit.
The Woking store is extending its services in response to customer demand and now boasts ‘hearcare hub’ status. This means increased hearcare clinics and dedicated audiology services are now available at the store. Houman is very excited to take the reins and give the community unrivalled audiology services and professionalism at all times.
Houman joins Woking from the Sutton store, where he qualified as an audiologist in 2016. Prior to this, Houman’s career history has seen him employed as an optical adviser and dispensing optician before progressing to become a store manager – a position that he held for 14 years.
Houman said: 'I started out in optics but admit I have always been fascinated by the audiology industry. During my time with Specsavers, I’ve been fortunate enough to benefit from their training schemes and ongoing counsel throughout my career. With their support, I decided to embark on a BSc in Hearing Sciences at Anglian Ruskin University to fulfil my future ambitions.'
Best part of the job
He continues: 'What I love most about my day to day is giving customers the gift of hearing – be it to hear a grandchild first words or being able to communicate clearly and confidently with friends. When hearing is impaired, it can have such as negative impact on one’s quality of life.
'People are always amazed by how much technology has advanced over the years and how small and innovative hearing aids can be. Once they walk over the threshold and see us, they regret not doing it years’ earlier!'
Outside of work
Houman is a father of two and during his leisure time, he loves nothing more than kicking a football around the pitch and going on family walks with his family and their black Labrador.
