Specsavers in Witham partnered up with a local group of volunteers to sponsor the Witham Round Table charity fireworks display, the largest annual event in the community.
On Saturday 8 November Specsavers in Witham supported the group as they put on an evening of fun and entertainment for the whole community.
The show kicked off with a warming bonfire before moving on to everyone’s favourite part of the night, a dazzling fireworks display. As well as the exciting displays, there was a large fair with a variety of exciting attractions and a delicious array of refreshments. Staff from Specsavers Witham joined in the festivities by offering visitors free sight test leaflets and eyecare advice while also donating free high visibility jackets to the children to support Road Safety Week (17-23 November) and keep the children safe and visible in the dark winter nights. The store also contributed to the event organisation, which raises money to be invested in the communities clubs, societies and facilities.
Specsavers Witham store director, Jennifer Bowen, says: ‘We really enjoyed supporting this year’s Witham fireworks alongside the Witham Round Table. Every year the community gets together to celebrate and enjoy this event and we are thrilled that we were able to be a part of it this year to raise money for the community and raise awareness about eye health and road safety.’
Witham Round Table chairman, Rob Gray, says: ‘The Witham Round Table organises events in the town to help raise money for local charities and organisations and all the money we raise is put back into the community. The largest of these events is the Witham fireworks and we have been really lucky to have the support of Specsavers Witham who helped us put on a fantastic event.’
