The Wishaw store has teamed up with a Lanarkshire fitness company to help put teams of budding athletes through their paces.
Fitness classes and bootcamps for all
The store sponsored Motherwell-based FerriFit as it supported groups of fitness enthusiasts taking part in long-distance obstacle races Tough Mudder and Rough Runner earlier this year.
FerriFit runs classes and bootcamps for people of all ages and fitness levels.
To say thanks to the store for its support, FerriFit included the store logo on its specially-designed event top – the sports tshirt worn by every FerriFit member who took part in the long-distance obstacle events.
Everyone from FerriFit who took part raised money for Motor Neurone Disease Association and Parkinson’s UK.
Looking after your health
Specsavers Wishaw store director Erin Riddell said: ‘FerriFit makes getting fit really accessible for people of all ages across Lanarkshire and beyond.
‘Having healthy eyes and ears links to the health of your body as a whole. It’s so important to lead a healthy lifestyle and Chris and the team at FerriFit are great at encouraging and inspiring people to get fit and healthy through taking part in fun activities.
‘We’re very proud to have been sponsors this year and to have supported the charity causes.’
FerriFit founder Chris Ferri said: ‘We would like to say a massive thank you to Erin and the team at the Wishaw store.
‘The store’s support helped us put a team of members through two really high profile obstacle races. Everyone who took part had a very positive experience and was inspired to take part in more races in the future.
‘The support from Specsavers has helped people achieve their fitness goals.’
