Residents of a Wishaw care home enjoyed some extra festive cheer thanks to a local opticians.
Staff from the Specsavers store in Main Street collected two boxes full of gifts – from food to games – for Thornhill House Care Home.
The caring staff donated a generous supply of goodies including cakes, biscuits and sweets, and also added in some playing cards and dominoes to keep the residents entertained.
Erin Riddell, store director at Specsavers Wishaw, said: ‘Thornhill House Care Home is a big part of the Wishaw community and provides a fantastic service to older people and their families.
‘For many older people the festive period can be a particularly isolating time of year so we wanted to spread some cheer and let the residents at Thornhill know they are in our thoughts. This fantastic care home provides much-needed help and support all year round.
‘Supporting the local community is very important to us and we’re delighted that we could help a great cause in this way.’
