Specsavers Winchester store director Krupesh Barchha has pedalled his way to £228.50 in donations for the British Heart Foundation after taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride this month.
Krupesh joined thousands of keen cyclists taking on the gruelling 54-mile route from Clapham Common to the south coast on 18 June. He completed the course in an impressive time of 4:24:51 and was cheered to the finish line by the team from the Specsavers store located on Winchester high street.
The business encouraged customers to donate to the good cause by holding a number of fundraising activities, including a bake sale, a competition to guess the amount of sweets in a jar and a spin the wheel game giving away free eye tests and optical accessories.
The money raised by Specsavers Winchester will be used to support the British Heart Foundation’s ongoing research into preventing heart and circulatory disease.
Krupesh says: ‘It was tough going but totally worth it and it’s great to do something you love while also raising money for a charity such as the British Heart Foundation. It’s something I would do again in a heartbeat!
‘We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all the customers for their messages of support and for donating so generously to the cause.’
