Eyecare specialists in Wimbledon are renewing their call to residents for used and unwanted specs.
The team from Specsavers in Wimbledon are collecting donations of specs for the global sight charity Vision Aid Overseas.
A word from the store director
Ray Hutchings, director of Specsavers in Wimbledon, said: ‘If you have a pair of unwanted glasses in a cupboard at home, why not pop into store and drop them in our collection box, and help those in need in developing nations.’
The proceeds from selling the reusable materials will go towards establishing vision centres, training healthcare workers and utilising the expertise of volunteers to give people desperately-needed eye examinations and treatment.
