Two days of spec-tacular fundraising has helped Wigston Specsavers raise £400 for the British Heart Foundation’s Wear It. Beat It event.

The team organised a red-themed weekend to raise money for the charity close to its heart. On Friday 6 and Saturday 7 February, staff wore red and held a special cake sale for customers. There was also a ‘red quiz’ in which all questions were associated with the colour red and some fantastic raffle prizes were up for grabs including designer specs, sight tests and chocolates.

Kay Chotai, store director, said: ‘We all really enjoyed our red weekend and fundraising for such a great charity. The fantastic effort that everyone made really paid off and with a lot of help from our generous customers, we’ve been able to raise a brilliant amount of money for the British Heart Foundation.’
