Widnes Specsavers has appointment a new optometrist director, coinciding with the store’s 29th birthday.
Mark Levi joins the Widnes Specsavers team with 15 years of industry experience, taking over the role as Chris O’Neil, the store’s previous director, who has stood down after 29 years.
Chris will now be working part-time in the Widnes store, continuing his dedication and loyalty to customers.
Bringing a vast amount of experience to the team
Newly appointed director, Mark, started his career in 2002 as an optometrist in the Derby Specsavers store, and brings a vast amount of knowledge in the field of optometry. During his career he has worked as a refractive consultant optometrist, a core optician, and a domiciliary optician – leading to his latest venture this year with Specsavers Widnes.
With his extensive experience, he has acquired an impressive range of skills in optometry and healthcare, making him well equipped for the role.
Mark will work alongside Angela Pearls, who has been dispensing director of the store for the past 29 years, and will also be supported by optometrist Glyn Hayes and Alison Morris, contact lens optician, who together have over 35 years of experience.
Investment in state-of-the-art equipment
His appointment comes at an exciting time for Widnes Specsavers, as plans to invest further in staff training and in specialised state-of-the-art equipment come to the fore.
The store also hopes to bring further care to customers by introducing partnerships with external speciality eye-health services.
Mark said: ‘As the store’s new optometrist director, I strongly believe in the importance of promoting good eye health to the local community. I therefore endeavour to be that approachable face who is always happy to answer any questions you may have about your eyes.
‘Specsavers stands for so much that is important to me, offering that perfect combination of choice, value, service and care to our customers. I’ll be working hard to preserve the good work and reputation that already exists with Specsavers Widnes, but I also want to enhance it so that we continue to be at the forefront in the advancing field of modern optics.’
Angela, dispensing director at Widnes Specsavers, said: ‘We’re extremely pleased to have Mark as our new optometrist director and know he will be a great fit for the team and will provide excellent care to the community.
Thanks to Chris O'Neil
‘We’d also like to thank Chris O’Neil for his long and devoted service to the store, and we’re sure his customers will be pleased to hear he will still be working with us on a part-time basis. Together our goal is to work hard as a team to build a very exciting future at Specsavers Widnes and continue providing an exceptional service for another 29 years.’
