Steve Morris, an optometrist at the Specsavers store in Wickford, has been crowned Specsavers UK clinical photographer.
Steve scooped the top prize for his fundus image of a young girl’s optic disc with a double helix looping blood vessel.
Judges praised the picture for its high quality, sharp focus and illumination of an interesting find.
As the winner of a photography competition it’s no surprise that Steve was awarded a Pentax camera for his outstanding efforts.
The competition has been running for eight years and showcases the best fundus and anterior images taken by Specsavers staff worldwide. The entries are then used for future Specsavers training material.
