Staff at Specsavers in Whiteley put in a stellar performance at a charity netball tournament this month to help raise more than £700 for a local children’s charity.
Wave 105 Cash for Kids
The ‘Specball’ team were one of six squads taking part in the tournament organised by Whiteley shopping centre in aid of Wave 105 Cash for Kids. A total of £772 was raised on the day, which will be donated to the charity group’s 1000 Faces initiative supporting disabled and disadvantaged children in the region.
The Specsavers dream team consisted of captain Simon Ashton and Judy Jordan, Antony Bishop, Alex Boodhram, Tom Joyce, Shannon Collyer, Sarah O'Brien and Shankari Jaitly.
Everyone’s a winner
Carey Cloke, store director at Specsavers Whiteley, says: ‘The team had a lot of fun with the netball and it was a great effort to raise so much for charity. As far as I’m concerned, they’re all winners.’
