Find out a bit more about the store directors at Specsavers in Whiteley.
Simon Wain has been the store director of Specsavers in Fareham for 25 years. Born in Bradford, he spent some years of his life in Australia and Scotland before moving to New Forest.
Simon has previously worked as a physics teacher and in sales and retail franchising, but decided to move into optometry after completing a BSc in Sport Science at Chichester University.
A word from Simon
Simon says: ‘Specsavers was an exciting retail opportunity in 1990 with very defined objectives. It was an exciting time and very rewarding, providing eye care to everyone at such competitive prices.
‘I love the buzz of the retail environment and we really enjoy our staff and customer interaction. This is a very complex aspect of high street retailing and keeps you on your toes all the time. There are so many parts to the journey that you never get bored.’
Lee Johnston has worked with Specsavers for nearly 10 years, having previously owned Specsavers Alton which has won countless Customer Service awards.
Lee has qualified as an optometrist for 15 years, with specialist interest in dry eye. He has also sat on the LOC for Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth. As well as this, he was previously regional vice chair for the Meridian West region of Specsavers.
