Spring is fast approaching and allergies will begin to take toll on the UK population once again. With over 21 million hayfever sufferers in the UK, Wetherby Specsavers is offering expert advice on how to take the best care of your eyes this spring.
Advice for battling hayfever
Allergies can prove to be particularly annoying to contact lens and glasses wearers due to symptoms including itchiness, burning eyes and swelling. Spectacle wearers can use wraparound glasses or sunglasses which will help to keep pollen out of the eyes. Although contact lens wearers are advised to switch to daily disposables to combat itching, if this fails it is best to revert to wearing spectacles during the hayfever season.
A word from the Store Director
Geoff Harper at Wetherby Specsavers, stated: “Hayfever and allergies can often be dismissed as a trivial problem. This shouldn’t be the case, allergies can not only disturb sleep, they also affect concentration and cause people to miss school or work.
“We want our local residents to know that we are on hand to help this hayfever season. I would urge anyone seeking advice to visit us here at Wetherby Specsavers and we will do our very best to assist them.”
