The team at Specsavers in West Wickham got in the fundraising spirit recently, as they supported Wear a Hat Day in aid of Brain Tumour Research.
The annual event, sponsored by Specsavers, saw members of staff given the opportunity to come to work in their best novelty hats and caps in exchange for a donation to the charity. The store raised a total of £211.49.
Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity in the UK dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours and are a leading voice calling for greater support and action for research into what scientists are calling the last battleground against cancer.
Specsavers West Wickham store director, Bamini Raj, said: ‘Wear a Hat Day proved a massive success in store, with the team really embracing the spirit of the day and our customers once again demonstrating their generosity to the cause.
‘The day also gave us a great opportunity to further push the importance of regular eye tests and educate people on the potential for check-ups to highlight potential signs of brain tumours.’
