Specsavers Welshpool has been awarded ‘Platinum Employer’ status for its dedication to staff wellbeing and career development.
Benchmark of quality
The Mill Lane Retail Park store received the accreditation after being assessed by an independent, external employee engagement specialist. The process included interviews with staff, and the store also had to show that it operated a high standard of people management, performance management and learning and development.
The Welshpool store is one of a number across Wales that has received this accreditation, as part of Specsavers’ 2020 ambition to become ‘famous as a great place to work’.

Lowri Evans, director of the Welshpool store, says: ‘Investing in our staff has always been important, as we want to make sure they have access to opportunities that can allow them to grow, both professionally and personally. Our staff provide a friendly and knowledgeable face for our customers, but this will only continue to happen if they feel happy and fulfilled in their jobs.
‘This accreditation demonstrates that.’
