Two team members from Specsavers in Wells were hitting all the right notes on Sunday (26 June) as they took centre stage at Glastonbury Festival.
The Burnham and Highbridge Band
Playing on the prestigious Pyramid Stage, Pam Fisher and Pat Trott joined their band mates from the Burnham and Highbridge Band to kick off the day’s performances.
Invited to perform by the Festival’s founder, Michael Eavis, the band was joined on the line-up by stars including Laura Mvula, Ellie Goulding and Coldplay.
‘It was so exciting to perform on the main stage at Glastonbury Festival this year,’ said Pam Fisher, admin manager. ‘Performing on the Pyramid Stage is something not many people get to experience, so it was a really wonderful opportunity for us all.
‘We were first to take to the stage for Sunday’s line-up, so followed in the footsteps of Adele as she brought Saturday’s play to a close.’
Formed in 1945, Burnham and Highbridge Band upholds the traditions of the brass band movement and provides opportunities for local people to get involved in music. For more information, visit www.burnhamandhighbridgeband.weebly.com
