Specsavers in Wellington is set to celebrate the Royal Wedding with a fundraising day on Saturday 19 May, while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be saying ‘I do.’
The team will host a bake sale with traditional British cakes including a Victoria sponge and scones. They will also be offering specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) with repairs and nose pads available in return for charitable donations.
Raising funds for charity
All funds raised will be going to Scotty’s Little Soldiers, one of the charities that has been chosen by the royal couple to receive donations instead of wedding gifts.
'Hoping to see lots of friendly faces'
Store director, Emma Davies, said: ‘We’re all excited for the Royal Wedding and thought what better way to celebrate than raising funds for a charity chosen by the couple themselves. We hope to see lots of friendly faces on the day and look forward to raising as much as possible.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers is dedicated to supporting bereaved British Forces children and young people. The charity provides practical yet personal support to show appreciation for those brave individuals who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.
