Staff from a Specsavers in Wellingborough are spending the festive period raising funds for the Northamptonshire branch of the Stillbirth and Neonatal death charity (SANDS).
The team will be hosting bake sales and raffles in the lead up to Christmas, in aid of the charity which provides support for bereaved parents and families who have suffered the death of a baby either before, during, or shortly after birth.
A word from the store manager
‘We decided to support Northamptonshire SANDS for the month of December as it’s a cause that is extremely close to our hearts,’ said store manager, Nicky Neville. ‘Christmas is a time that we usually spend in good spirits with family and friends we often forget about people who are going through a difficult time, which is why it’s the perfect time of year to raise awareness and support them.
‘We’re really hoping the local community will get behind us. As well as hosting the fundraisers, we are hoping to boost the total with collections pots in store and by offering specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) in return for donations throughout the month.’
