A wave of orange rolled through Wellingborough Specsavers on Saturday 4 July as fundraising got underway for the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (SANDs).
Supporting a valuable cause
Children of all ages were invited to visit the store with their parents and pick up a treat from the lucky dip. Visitors also enjoyed freshly baked cakes and took part in a tombola and raffle, in return for a donation to SANDs.
Covered head to toe in orange
David Williams, retail director at Specsavers Wellingborough, said: ‘We are extremely proud to have supported this important cause and it was wonderful to see our store transformed into an orange wonderland over the two days.
‘Thanks to the commitment of our team and the generosity of our customers, we raised £600 for SANDs on the day, which will help them to continue the incredible work they do.’
Money raised by the store will be donated to SANDs to train hospitals and other healthcare providers to give bereaved parents the right support. Not only does SANDs help families who have suffered bereavement, they also carry out valuable research into ways of preventing future stillbirths. To find out more about SANDs visit www.uk-sands.org.
