The audiology team are inviting the local community in-store on 28th August for a ‘Sounds of Summer’ event.
The main attraction is a machine which allows people to experience what hearing aids are able to do for those who need them.
Audiology director Emma Handford says of the machine:
‘It’s a great opportunity for friends and family of people with hearing loss to gain an understanding of what a difference hearing aids can make for their loved ones. Often friends and family report they’ve noticed a remarkable difference in the hearing aid wearer after they begin using them, but they may not have such a clear idea of just how difficult it was for the person to hear clearly beforehand.’
In addition, the team has blocked out appointments on the day for any walk-ins who are interested in having their hearing checked. A hear care assistant will also be on hand to offer free wax checks.
There will be various demonstrations of state of the art hearing technologies on the day too, including the Signia Streamline TV accessory, which is specifically designed for streaming of television sound in Dolby Digital quality to hearing aids using Bluetooth technology.
Additionally, for the month of August, Specsavers Watford Audiology is hosting a huge sale across selected Signa, Phonak and Widex products of up to £500 off.
The activity is being run to make sure the local community doesn’t miss a moment of the sounds of summer.
‘There is still such a stigma around hearing loss’, says Emma.
‘But we want to let people know that losing your hearing doesn’t necessarily have to be a permanent sentence. There are so many great advancements with hearing aid technology in recent years that means, for many people, you can have your hearing, and your quality of life back.’
