Staff at Specsavers, Walworth Road, will be joined by the Deputy Mayor of Southwark on Saturday 30 July to celebrate the re-opening of the store.
Deputy Mayor, Charlie Smith, will cut the ribbon for newly refurbished opticians – introducing pioneering optical technology to the local community.
Store Director, Radhika Radia, said that the new facility will welcome state of the art software, including a new way of selecting and fitting customers’ glasses. It will also have an increased testing capacity. She added: ‘This is a significant moment for the Walworth Road store and we’d like to thank our special guest, Deputy Mayor Charlie Smith, for helping us mark the occasion in style.’
Following an eye examination, the optical team assists customers in selecting their preferred glasses. Imaging software on a tablet is then used to take an image of them wearing the glasses, which in turn captures a range of essential dispensing measurements. These are unique to the customer and their chosen glasses.
