A local primary school have voiced their thanks to Specsavers Walworth Road after a recent donation of high-visibility jackets.
Henry Fawcett Primary School were given the jackets to tie in with November’s Road Safety Week – an annual event to raise awareness of the importance of both driver and pedestrian safety.
The jackets will allow students from the school to increase their visibility while on their way to and from school, enhancing the ability of driver’s to see them while they complete their journeys.
Suraj Shah, store director at Specsavers Walworth Road said: ‘’It’s incredibly important that we strive to not only educate younger children on the importance of road safety but also to ensure drivers are also aware of the standards their sight needs to be at in order for them to be safe on the roads.
‘These messages obviously take particular significance during the winter months when visibility is limited so we’re glad to be making a difference on our roads and would be happy to extend a donation to other groups seeking road safety support.’
