Specsavers in Walton-on-Thames is looking for glamorous glasses wearers in the area to put forward for Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2018, which will give locals the chance to claim a £10,000 cash prize.
The store is urging glasses wearers aged 16 and over to enter this year’s competition, which will invite selected finalists to attend a swanky awards ceremony in London hosted by Steps singer Claire Richards. One overall winner will scoop the top Spectacle Wearer of the Year award and the cash prize.
Conor MacCarthy, store director at Specsavers Walton-on-Thames, said: ‘It would be brilliant if one of our customers took home to top prize of £10,000 for this year’s Spectacle Wearer of the Year awards, and we’re encouraging as many people to enter the competition as possible.'
Could you be a winner?
The competition has five age categories – 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-59 and over 60s – plus a Facebook favourite voted for by the public. A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and mingle with celebrities at the awards in London in October.
One pound will also be donated to Kidscape for each entry made, with the money raised helping to support the charity in providing practical support to children and families affected by bullying. Spectacle Wearer of the Year has raised more than half a million pounds for anti-bullying charity Kidscape over the past nine years.
Don't delay, enter today
To be in with a chance of scooping the biggest accolade in the specs-wearing world, glasses wearers can enter the competition online. Deadline for entries is 1 July 2018.
