Walsall residents will be in with a chance of winning some sweet treats and Valentine’s prizes while raising money for Comic Relief, thanks to Specsavers.
Members of staff are inviting local people to enter a Valentine’s-themed ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar' competition.
The winner will receive the jar of sweets and a meal for two at local Mexican restaurant, Chiquito.
Store director Andrew Clarke said: ‘Each guess costs £1, and every penny will go to Comic Relief. It’s a fantastic charity and one that we’re very happy to be supporting in store.’
The competition is open to all visitors aged 18 or over until Monday 13 February, when a winner will be chosen.
‘The competition answer is being kept under lock and key until next week, so we’re looking forward to revealing our winner on Monday,’ Andrew added. ‘I’d like to say a big thank you to Chiquito for donating this great prize, and encourage all of our customers to pop into store to help us raise as much money as we can for charity.’
Visitors to Specsavers in Walsall can join in with this year’s Comic Relief theme ‘give us a wave’ with Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses. The glasses, which have a waving hand on each side, come in children’s and adult sizes and are just £2, with all the money donated to Comic Relief.
Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
Specsavers in Walsall has joined Specsavers stores across the UK to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives in Britain and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
