Walsall Specsavers has undergone a substantial refurbishment, improving services and creating five new jobs in the area.
An investment of more than £150,000 has seen the store kitted out with the latest software and optical technology – replacing traditional reception desks with mobile, standing and seated service points. Customers are now greeted and registered on tablet devices, which are also used to measure and dispense their specs, making their visit smoother and quicker.
‘We’re delighted with our new-look store and can’t wait for customers to come in and see the changes,’ said Andrew Clarke, store director. ‘This is a significant investment for us and as well as providing a more efficient and interactive service, we’ve also been able to grow our team and create new jobs for local people.
‘As part of our improved service, we now use innovative software to help customers find the most suitable frames for them and their prescription and in most cases can dispense specs within the hour, delivering a same-day service for customers.’
The store currently employs more than 40 people and now boasts a dedicated hearing room, alongside its revamped optical testing rooms.
