Specsavers in Wallington is calling on the local community to drop off their old glasses at the store to help provide vital eyecare to people in Africa.
The store is once again supporting Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), a charity providing optical care to people in Ethiopia, Burkina Faso and other African countries.
Customers can support the cause by dropping off their used and unwanted glasses at a collection box located in the store.
The glasses are then collected and recycled, with funds raised being used to set up vision centres and provide outreach services to isolated communities.
A word from the store director
Jonathan Butterworth, store director at Specsavers Wallington, said: ‘Vision Aid Overseas provides many important services to people who have little availability to eyecare. So if you had any old glasses, why not donate them the next time you’re passing the store or dropping in for an eye test?’
