In the run up to Autism Awareness Week this March, the team at Specsavers Uckfield decided to improve their skills in meeting the needs of autistic customers – and the people who support them.
The training, developed by the National Autistic Society, covers understanding autism, communication, how autism can impact the senses, and adjustments that stores can make to make the customer journey easier.
A word from the store director
Badrinath Mohandas, store director in Uckfield, said: ‘As a store, we are committed to training and developing the team to give all of our customers the best possible service.
‘That is why we were delighted to be able to access this training – and our staff really enjoyed building their knowledge too.’
