Specsavers in Tunbridge Wells is asking the local community to take a few minutes to support Dunorlan Park in a national competition.
The park, just outside Tunbridge Wells, has been nominated as the UK’s Best Park for 2017 by local residents. It joins 34 other parks from across the South East in vying for the award – and over 350 parks in total across the UK.
Protecting local parks
The competition is the brainchild of Fields in Trust, a charity which seeks to protect parks, playing fields and playgrounds across the UK.
Voting is taking place online – and all votes must be cast by 5pm on Friday 3 November. The winner will be announced at the end of the month.
A special place
Ian Hyland, store director in Tunbridge Wells, said: ‘Dunorlan Park provides a beautiful and family friendly space to walk, relax and play.
'The boating lake is really special – and the park is also home to a regular parkrun which helps keep local people active. I would urge as many customers as possible to vote to support Dunorlan Park in this competition.’
