Specsavers Tunbridge Wells are passionate about supporting the next generation of optometrists.
Talking to students
That is why they jumped at the chance to attend a careers day at the Judd School in Tonbridge recently.
Retail director Ian Hyland and ophthalmic director Sonal Sharma had a great day talking to local students about why optometry could be the career for them.
Personally and professionally rewarding
Sonal said: ‘Young people often do not consider optometry as a career, but actually it is a great choice for lots of reasons.
‘It can be extremely personally and professionally rewarding, attract a great salary, and give you a career path that – with Specsavers – could lead to you owning your own store.’
Ian added: ‘The school made us feel very welcome on the day.
‘I am sure that talking to Sonal has brought the idea of becoming an optometrist much higher up the students list of career aspirations.’
