Eyecare experts in Tunbridge Wells have raised £1,700 for Hospice in the Weald over the past year, with six members of the team helping to marshal a ‘moonlight walk’ which took place in Sevenoaks.
Launched in 2016, the moonlight walk has already doubled the number of participants, growing from 200 in its first year to over 500 in 2017. The eight-mile walk began at The Vine restaurant before taking in the sights of Sevenoaks, including picturesque Knole Park.
A word from the fundraisers
‘From our starting point at The Vine to the finish line in Sevenoaks town centre, it was a fantastic experience,’ says contact lens manager TJ, who co-ordinated the store effort.
‘We saw Sevenoaks in a whole new light and we met like-minded people from across the county, all there to support Hospice in the Weald.
‘Thanks to the support of our families, friends and customers, we’ve raised more than we ever anticipated we could over the last year, and we’ll continue to support this incredible service in the future.’
