All the team at Specsavers in Truro joined in the fun of Wear A Hat Day. Fundraising included a customer raffle for a luxury hamper, a sweepstake for a bottle of a champagne, a tasty bake sale and staff also sported their finest head gear.
A cause close to Harriet’s heart
Specsavers Truro staff member, Harriet Roberts lost a childhood friend due to a brain tumour. She said: ‘Having had a personal experience of losing a childhood friend to a brain tumour when she was just eight years old, I know how vital funding into research really is to prevent more people losing their lives.
‘I hope that our fundraising day has encouraged more people to book their regular eye test, which could identify the signs of a brain tumour early on.’
Thank you for your support
Leighton Simmons, Specsavers Truro retail store director, added: ‘This was a fun way to raise awareness of a very serious issue. It also highlighted what a talented team of bakers we have in store. Thank you to all the team and our customers for helping raise essential funds for a very worthwhile cause.’
