Tiverton opticians, Specsavers, is proud to announce that staff are now trained in helping customers with glaucoma queries before they reach the testing room.

One drop at a time

The training was developed in partnership with the International Glaucoma Association and helps teams on the shop floor to speak to customers when they arrive in store, including how to administer eye drops, which are crucial for managing the condition.

Confidence in the training

Staff member, Amy James, completed the training with 10 of her colleagues. She said: ‘When a patient arrives we ask about their family history of glaucoma. After completing the module I feel more confident discussing the condition. I now have the knowledge to communicate causes, risk factors and possible treatments of glaucoma.’
