A Thornbury Scouts group will stand out when delivering Christmas cards to the local community thanks to a donation of high-visibility vests from a local opticians.

Specsavers on St. Mary’s Way has donated the vests to ensure the group will stay safe during their Christmas activities, which include helping deliver local Christmas cards to the community.

Group leader for the 3rd Thornbury Scouts group, Tony Cockwell contacted the Specsavers store to see if they could help.

‘We have been running this local Christmas scheme for the past 15 years, and these vests are very important safety tool for the Scouts,’ said Tony.

We are always looking for new ways to ensure the children are safe when out and about around town and the Specsavers team have been so helpful. We are delighted to receive this donation from them and are looking forward to seeing the Scouts looking very smart and visible as they spread the Christmas greetings through the streets of Thornbury.’
