Specsavers are now offering one year apprenticeships to students who are considering a career in optics and optometry.
Specsavers in Thetford is currently looking to recruit an apprentice to take part in their apprenticeship scheme. It is open to suitable applicants over the age of 16, with no previous optical experience required. After completion, the apprentice will become a qualified optical assistant with the opportunity to join the team full-time.
Store director at Specsavers Thetford, Paul Clark says: ‘We believe that apprenticeships are a great opportunity for young people to enter the world of work in a safe and structured way. Our scheme in particular provides the apprentice with a real job, excellent training and nationally recognised qualifications.’
Earn while you learn
‘Rather than having to pay tuition fees, our apprentices learn on the job, earning a wage with additional benefits including paid holiday.’
Alongside this they complete the Level 2 Diploma in Optical Retail with the potential to further qualify as a dispensing optician within five years.
